Are you a newcomer and want to learn about Al-Anon? The Saturday morning Walteria meeting in Torrance offers a newcomers meeting starting at 830 a.m. - a half hour before the regular meeting starts   map (Note that some online maps and references display the address to the Walteria United Methodist Church as 4646. The correct address is 3646 Newton).

It is permissible for a meeting to have an occasional AA speaker, but we encourage people to learn about alcoholism, and suggest that they visit open AA meetings for such information. On Page 121 of the Al-Anon Alateen service Manual 2014 - 2018, Speakers from the Helping Professions, it states 'The purpose of Al-Anon is personal growth through applying the Twelve Steps and sharing our experience, strength, and hope. It is from Al-anon and Alateen members that we hear the ideas and experiences that guide us in our personal recoveries. Outside speakers at Al-Anon and Alateen meetings may divert the focus from our own recovery to that of the alcoholic. Thus, the group tries to ensure that any occasional guest speaker be knowledgeable about the Al-Anon/Alateen program.' (Message from District added 1/15/2015).

We've added a Location Map to help members quickly find meetings. Days will be added until the map is complete. (added 1/16/2015).
